Call for proposals for the organization of Structuring Scientific Workshops

Audience: any unit within the AEB division

CONTEXT
As part of the structuring of the AEB Cluster, we wish to use part of the Cluster's operating budget to finance workshop projects aimed at (i) cross-disciplinary scientific events on a topic of interest or future prospects, or (ii) workshops aimed at the future structuring of areas of potential interest to the Cluster.
This call is coordinated by the AEB Research Cluster management, and each proposal must involve at least two units primarily affiliated with the AEB Cluster. Financial support will be dedicated to the organization of scientific workshops taking place in 2026.
There will be a single call for applications for events taking place between February 15, 2026, and December 31, 2026.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURES
Project leaders should complete the application form and send it to the director of their research organization for signature.
The director of the research organization will rank the applications, if necessary, and send them by email to pole-aeb-dir@umontpellier.fr before October 23, 2025. Each application must be submitted as a single PDF file named "Acronym Laboratory_name of project leader."

The AEB executive committee will evaluate the applications and establish a ranking. The results will be communicated to the project leaders and laboratory directors. Funding will be made available and must be used before the financial year-end in December 2026. No carryover of funds will be possible.

AEB Interpôle Master's 2 Scholarships

Audience: any unit within the AEB division

CONTEXT
The Agronomy-Environment-Biodiversity Research Cluster is launching a call for proposals for "Intercluster Master's 2 Scholarships" aimed at research teams wishing to host a Master's 2 student for six-month internships starting in January 2026. Applicants do not need to have already identified a student.

ELIGIBILITY
Projects submitted must be interdisciplinary and must involve two research units: one unit affiliated with the AEB research cluster (list on page 2) and one research unit affiliated with either the Chemistry cluster, the MIPS cluster, or the Social Sciences cluster. Applications do not require a student to have already been identified.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURES
Project leaders must complete the application form and send it to their research center director for signature.
Applications must be sent by email to pole-aeb-dir@umontpellier.fr before October 17, 2025. Each application must be submitted as a single file named "Laboratory acronym_name of project leader 1_name of project leader 2."
The AEB cluster's executive committee will evaluate the applications and rank them. The results will be communicated to the project leaders and laboratory directors.

The funding made available must be used before the financial closure in December 2026.
No carryover of funds will be possible.

Call for Projects Scientific Events

Submission deadline: October 3, 2025, at 12:00 p.m .

Audience: Unit of the AEB division under the supervision of UM

CONTEXT
This call follows on from the University of Montpellier (UM) call for proposals for "exceptional funding for the organization of scientific events," previously managed by the DRED. It has been coordinated by the Research Clusters since 2024. Subject to the approval of the 2025 budget by the Board of Directors, the AEB Research Cluster will provide financial support for the organization of scientific events taking place in 2026.
Two calls for applications are scheduled: one in the fall of year N-1 (this call) for events taking place between January 1, 2026, and January 31, 2027, and one in the spring of year N for events taking place between July 1, 2026, and January 31, 2027, bearing in mind that applications cannot be retroactive.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURES

Applicants will complete the application form and submit it to the director of their research organization for signature.

The director of the research facility will classify the applications and send them by email to pole-aebdir@umontpellier.fr before October 3, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Each application will consist of a single PDF file titled "Acronym Laboratory_name of the applicant."

The ad hoc committee of the AEB cluster evaluates the applications and establishes a ranking. This is then discussed by the research committee. The results will be communicated to the project leaders and laboratory directors. Funding will be made available after deliberation by the Research Committee at the beginning of the year. It must be used before the financial year-end in December 2026. No carryover of funds will be possible.
